Dan is book-writer of GRUMPY OLD MEN: THE MUSICAL (alongside lyricist and long-time MAD MAGAZINE editor Nick Meglin and composer Neil Berg) based on the 1993 Warner Brothers film.  The show enjoyed its United States premier starring Broadway greats Mark Jacoby and Ed Dixon alongside Tony- and Emmy-winners Hal Linden and Sally Struthers, selling out its run at the legendary Ogunquit Playhouse. It premiered on the west coast at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts featuring Cathy Rigby and Ken Page, with Linden and others reprising their roles. Both productions received rave reviews. International production rights are available from Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW).

As an actor, Dan has appeared on stages from New York to Los Angeles and on such television shows as LAW & ORDER: SVU, BLIND JUSTICE, CONVICTION, LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT, LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O’BRIEN and more.
 
His plays and workshops have been produced throughout the United States, Canada and Europe featuring Emmy-, Tony- and Oscar-winning actors. His feature screenplays have been optioned by Oscar-nominated producers.
 
Dan studied and performed at Tufts University and holds a degree in acting from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.  He serves on the Board of Directors for the Anglo-American
Mind The Gap Theatre based in New York City and frequently writes and performs with the storied Theatre Artists Workshop of Westport, CT.

He recently wrote his first pop song, inspired by the superhero Batman, entitled LEAST BEING ME. It is available on
iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon Music.

In 2025, Dan will publish a book of comical essays entitled GRUMPY OLD DAN.
